Boy Block Set
Fancy Pants Supplies:
Papers: That Boy: Pattern Star, Stripey, Directions, Be Dotted, Numbers Bracket, Stars Bracket, Embellish Boy Stickers
Ribbon: All Fall Woven
Chipboard: Say It Simple Letters (boy and brackets)
Buttons: All Fall
Other Supplies:
Cardstock: Navy Blue
Craft Paint: Country Blue, Light Blue and Maroon
Sewing Machine (optional)
Wood Adhesive
Foam Adhesive
Instructions:
- Paint large block in the country blue color. Paint the small block in the light blue color. Set aside to dry.
- Punch out letters for “boy” and the brackets and paint maroon. Set aside to dry.
- Cut out a 3 1/4 inch square from each of your patterned papers, except Stars Bracket paper. The Numbers Bracket will have to be cut from the center since there is a decorative edge.
- Stitch around each square for added texture. Ink all edges.
- On your Be Dotted square (photo #2), add a 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inch photo to the left side, then stitch (or adhere) buttons next to it. Add journaling or a date on white cardstock.
- When Paint is dry, adhere all of the squares to the block, except the top block which we will add last. The top block is the numbers paper, the others can be placed by looking at the photos. (It is easier to adhere these when they are flat before embellishments are added. We completed the one square due to the fact that you will need to be able to stitch the buttons through the paper first.)
- Photo #1: Boy with Scallop border: The background of this side is the Stripey paper square.
- From the Embellish Boy stickers, cut the graph border sticker out. Keep the adhesive strip on and cut around die line. Trim the border to 3 1/4 inches wide, two times (top and bottom). Ink edges.
- Add borders to top and bottom of Stripey paper block using Foam Adhesive for dimension. Next, adhere your boy letters. They may tuck under the border slightly.
- Photo #3: Star with small journaling block on Directions paper block. Simply cut a star shape from your Stars Bracket paper out and ink the edges. Add a small journaling block and adhere to paper. Adhere cut out star shape using foam adhesive for dimension.
- Photo # 4: Boy photo, with brackets and mini buttons on Pattern Star paper block. Add your 1 3/4 x 2 3/4 photo to the bottom area of the block. Adhere.
- Add brackets to the top of the photo. Adhere. Add mini buttons to lower left bracket and adhere.
- Photo #5: Numbers paper block and sticker with ribbon tie. Take tag sticker (B is for Boy) from the Embellish Boy Stickers and place on Navy blue cardstock. Trim to outline.
- Punch hole in center. Line up where you want it on the Numbers paper block and hole punch through the numbers paper as well.
- Loop ribbon through tag and paper and tie knot.
- Adhere block/tag/ribbon to the top of the block!
Mini Accent Block:
Adhere a mix of buttons to the front of the block.
Tie woven ribbon around edges to knot on top
