Instructions
1. Using you mini screwdriver, remove hinges and latch, set aside.
2. Cut 2 strips of Saturday patterned cardstock striped side up measuring 1/2″x12″. Cut these to fit the 4 side panels on the box cover making sure you leave a slight wooden border on both ends so it will be equal to the border left by the top. Then attach each piece in to place using Zip Dry and making sure to pierce the holes in the sides where screws go so it will be easy to find later on.
3. Cut one piece from each of the following pieces of patterned cardstock that measures 1 1/2″x4 1/2″. Once you have them cut attach with Zip Dry as instructed behind the paper name below, again making sure to pierce screw holes.
Sunday (flower side up, right panel)
Tuesday (blue side up, front panel)
Wednesday (grid side up, back panel)
Thursday (flower side up, left panel)
4. Once you have the 4 panels attached in step #3 above take your black journaling pen and create faux stitching all the way around the outside edges of each panel.
5. You should have 4 leftover strip pieces you cut in step #3 above. Cut one 4″ length from each strip. Use these on the inside side panels of your box. You can place them however you like.
6. Reattach hinges and latch to box.
7. Cut a piece of Wednesday patterned cardstock measuring 4 3/8″ x 4 3/8″. Place this on top of your box using Zip Dry, grid side up. Use your journaling pen to go around the outside edges and create faux stitching once again.
8. Apply ladybug Ready-Set-Chip pieces to the box top as shown. Add the pink chipboard spots to the coordinating areas on the ladybugs back. Also apply the letters to spell “Fun” running on a curve above the ladybug. Next find the thin green alphabet border sticker and cut it to fit on the grid paper about 1/4″ up from the bottom.
9. Using your Micro-tip scissors, cut out 3 flowers from a piece of Thursday patterned cardstock. I cut one pink, green, and red. Bend the outside edges of the petals up a bit and attach them as shown using your Zip Dry. Also cut one red/blue butterfly from the patterned paper and attach to the left front striped panel of your box. Fan the wings out after it dries.
10. Now turn your box so you can see the back hinge area. Attach the “giggle” sticker from your sticker sheet to the lower grid panel, making sure you center it. Next cut out 2 blue butterflies from Thursday patterned cardstock and attach one on each side of the giggle sticker. Once the butterflies are dry fan their wings out a little for a 3 dimensional look.
11. Ok, moving back to the front of the box and we will begin working on the blue panel underneath the latch. Locate and cut out your “girl power” box on the elements sheet. Now cut directly under and below the strip of words. Once you have this completed then cut in between girl and power to make two separate words. Place them on the front of your box as shown. Now add your pink and green chipboard butterfly off to the right of the words.
12. Now open your box and cut two pieces of 4″x4″ patterned cardstock from the Saturday piece. Place these in the top and bottom of the box striped side up. Place the “Queen” chipboard piece centered inside the cover.
13. Next we will work on the 4 coasters. We will only be adding patterned cardstock to these because we need to keep them flat to hold drinks. Cut the following pieces by 3 3/4″ square.
2 pieces of Saturday
2 pieces of Thursday
2 pieces of Monday
1 piece of Tuesday
1 piece of Wednesday
Round all 4 corners of these pieces and apply whatever designs you choose to coaster surface front and back. These fit inside of your box. If you want to make the coasters waterproof, make sure you apply a sealer to the surface front and back.
